Lexington City Clerk
(seal)
The City of Lexington, Nebraska has periodically published its general ordinances. The first known publication was a compilation of City Ordinances published in 1910. The Ordinances were codified and published as a “City Code” first in 1956, again in 1970, and most recently on September 26, 1990. The 1990 Code has been updated numerous times, and this edition is updated through September 5, 2007 and includes a completely new index.
As with any law book, this Code can be out of date as early as the next meeting of the City Council. Care should be taken to keep the book updated with a system of supplements, or by referring to the Ordinances on file with the City Clerk. A “digital” version of this Code Book is maintained by the City Attorney’s office, with each chapter updated within a reasonable time after adoption of new legislation, and that digital version is available to the public through the City Clerk’s office.
